Electric Installations deteriorate over time, so testing should be conducted regularly to check their condition.

If you’re an Employer, it’s recommended that business premises are tested every 5 years - and every 3 years for industrial premises. If you’re a Landlord, buy-to-let and privately rented properties should be tested every 5 years, or when you have new tenants.

Bison will quickly and efficiently test the electrical installation at your place of business, and provide you with an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) showing what, if anything, needs to be done to maintain electrical safety and compliancy with current regulations. Your EICR will either be marked as satisfactory or unsatisfactory. If unsatisfactory, you will see one of three results:

C1 - Danger present – Risk of injury, immediate action required
C2 - Potentially dangerous – urgent action required,
FI - Further investigation required
C3 - A satisfactory report may show a C3 result. This means ‘Improvement recommended’ – your installation isn’t dangerous, but it’s not compliant with current regulations.

In each case, Bison will list the work that needs to be done to bring everything in line with current safety standards and regulations, and give you a quote for the work. You can then decide if, or when you would like it to be carried out.

PAT Testing
Portable appliance testing is the UK’s recognised method for checking that your equipment is safe for use. Employers, and the self-employed have a responsibility to comply with safety regulations, so annual PAT testing is necessary for all business owners.
